The perfect fit....
Proper lacing....

There are many other corset shoppes out there that ask you for three measurements when fitting a corset: bust, hips and waist. So, take 2-4 inches off your waist size and purchase that size corset? Wrong! It still may not fit well enough to be comfortable because that mentality ignores the fundamental law of garment fitting: no one person is identical. When purchasing a corset, one must not think only horizontally, but also vertically.

The biggest issue with a off the rack corset's fit is the vertical distance between the waist and the other areas that the corset covers. When laced, the corset should sit on the waist. If the curve for the hips starts too soon or too late, the corset may shift (not comfy). If the underbust line starts too soon, the corset may be more loose than intended in the ribs, as if the underbust starts too late, it may be tighter than intended....and too tall. As for the overbusst line, well, either the girls are going to not be supported or they will pushed up underneath your chin. Yes, ladies, cleavage is usually accentuated when lacing, but that is a bit extreme.

Note: Amy and Cheryl cannot stress the importance of a properly fitted corset for both comfort and your health! Please take fit into consideration before purchasing any corset, and consult a doctor if you have back or GI problems before lacing.
